Detailed Solution

The fractional distillation method includes fractionating columns. Two or more liquid mixtures with slight variances in their volatility can be separated by a method called fractional distillation. The liquids in this process continuously distil and condense.

Let's start by comprehending the fractional distillation procedure. As the name implies, fractional distillation involves the division of liquids into or as fractions. These fractions are separated using this method, which involves heating the mixture of liquids to the point at which each liquid begins to evaporate.
Thus, it is clear that liquids with lower boiling points will be separated first and those with noticeably higher boiling points would be separated last.

A burner, condenser, round-bottomed flask, fractionating column, and thermometer are the components of fractional distillation. The mixture is heated using a burner in order to determine the boiling points of the liquids it contains. The mixture is kept in a flask with a circular bottom while it is heated. The liquids that have evaporated pass through this flask with a circular bottom and enter the fractionating column.

The liquids that have evaporated are subsequently divided by the fractionating column and sent to a condenser, where they are cooled to return to liquid state. As a result, the fractionating column's purpose is to divide two components.

Therefore,the correct option is (A).
