The land boundary of India is 15,200 kilometres long. It shares around 4,000 kilometres of border with Bangladesh in the east. China, to the north of India, has 3488 kilometres of international boundary with the country. Nepal to the north and Myanmar to the east have around 3400 kilometres of border with the northeastern states. To the northwest are Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan and India share a boundary of about 3323 kilometres. Bhutan has a 699-kilometer boundary with India. Sri Lanka and the Maldives are the nearest islands to the continent. Andaman and Nicobar Island in the Bay of Bengal in the east has maritime boundaries with Indonesia, Myanmar, and Thailand.
