The literal meaning of  Manipravalam is diamonds and corals.
Manipravalam is the regional language of Kerala which means diamonds and corals. The text called Lilathilakkam, written in the 14th century was composed in this language.
This text dealt with grammar and politics at that time. Manipravalam is also the language of both Sanskrit and the regional language of Kerala. That is, it is an admixture of native and Sanskrit languages.
