Five-Year Plans are the main feature of Centralised Planning.
After the October Revolution of 1917-18, when the Bolsheviks came into power, they brought various changes. Among those changes, one was to stabilise and have an equal share of the economy distributed among the masses. The Bolsheviks ordered centralised economic planning, which set some 5-year targets for measuring economic growth. This came to be known as the Five Year Plan. Due to this plan, the country saw enormous economic advancement during 1927-1933 and 1933-1938. After the implementation of the 5-year plan, new industrial cities also came into existence. There was a hundred per cent increase in the production of oil, coal, etc.
