After flowing west till it reaches Dhubri, the River Brahmaputra turns south in the Garo Hills before entering Bangladesh close to Golpara. In Bangladesh, it is known as Jamuna. The Tista and other rivers converge here with the Brahmaputra, which ultimately falls into the Padma (Ganga).
