Detailed Solution

There are 13% of the familiar natives of Sri Lanka who are also known as Sri Lankan Tamils. Sri Lanka is an island country, so its population is also diverse. There are about 18% of Tamils in Sri Lanka, and the group of Tamils is also categorised into two sub-groups. At least 13% of the Tamils are Sri Lankan Tamils or natives of Sri Lanka, whereas 5% of the Tamils are those whose forefathers migrated from India to Sri Lanka for plantation work under British rule. At that time, some of them were settled in Sri Lanka. The migrated Indians who settled in Sri Lanka are also known as Indian Tamils. Most of the Tamils are either Hindu or Muslim, and a few are Christian also.
