Detailed Solution

The President is known to be the nominal head of the state. The Prime Minister is the real head of the government. In the Indian political system, the President can only exercise nominal power. The President of India is similar to the Queen of Britain, whose role and functions are primarily ceremonial. The President must seek the aid and advice of the council of ministers headed by the Prime Minister in political matters. The President maintains harmony between the political instructions and helps the country to achieve its objectives. The people of the country do not directly elect the President. The election of the President consists of Members of Parliament (MPs) and the elected Members of the Legislative Assemblies (MLAs), and the President must have a majority of votes to win the election.
