Detailed Solution

The power of accommodation of a normal person is 4 D.
We can see objects at different distances from our eyes, this is made possible by changing focal length of eye-lens. Ciliary muscles are the muscles which keep eye-lens in its position. Ciliary muscles also help in modifying eye-lens to some extent. This ability of eyes is called power of accommodation.
power of accommodation D of a normal person is given by the formula :  D=1f …(1)
Where ,  f=focal length
1f=1v-1u  …(2)
Where, v=far point, u=near point ,
Given , near point of a normal person = 25 cm,
far point of a normal person= ∞
By substituting the given values in equation(1) we get,
 1f=1-125
1f=125
 By putting the value of focal length in the equation(1) we get,
 D=1f
 D=125 cm
D=0.04*100 m
D=4 D
