Detailed Solution

The present strength of Lok Sabha is 565.
The Indian Parliament comprises three houses: the President, the Rajya Sabha, and the Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha is composed of 545 members. Following the Lok Sabha elections, each political party compiles a list of MPs. A political party must have a majority of elected MPs to form a government. To have a majority in Lok Sabha, a party must have at least half of the 543 elected plus 2 Anglo-Indians nominated members or 272 MPs. The Opposition in Parliament comprises all political parties, not the prevailing party/coalition members. The largest of these parties is the Opposition.
