What is the primary function of lysosomes in eukaryotic cells?  

 Lysosomes are single membrane bound structures that contain hydrolytic enzymes functional at acidic pH. They can digest biomacromolecules like  carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids.So they are called as suicidal bags.
