What is the qualification for PM Shri teacher?

To become a PM SHRI teacher, candidates must meet specific educational and professional standards set by the Ministry of Education. The requirements ensure that teachers are well-qualified, trained, and capable of delivering high-quality education aligned with national standards.

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks in the relevant subject and overall aggregate.
• Professional Qualification: A B.Ed. or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
• Eligibility Test: Must have passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by CBSE or a State Eligibility Test (SET).

Specific Qualifications for Different Roles

• Primary Teacher (PRT):
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), or
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Post Graduate Teacher (PGT):
  • A two-year integrated postgraduate course from an NCERT Regional College of Education in the relevant subject or a Master’s degree in the subject with at least 50% marks.
