Detailed Solution

Given- A cube is given with edge ‘a’.
At first, we will find the total surface area
Total surface area (TSA) of a cube with side a= 6a²                -eq.(1)           Now, we will apply the formula to find the lateral surface area of the cube.
Lateral surface area (LSA) of a cube with side a= 4a²                -eq.(2)  By dividing eq.(1) by eq . (2) find the ratio of total surface area and lateral surface area of the cube.
Thus,
TSA LSA = 6 a 2 4 a 2 TSA LSA = 3 2                 Therefore, the ratio of the total surface area and lateral surface area of a cube is 3:2.
Hence, option 3 is the correct option.
