Detailed Solution

The significance of the Treaty of Constantinople is that it recognised Greece as an independent nation. The revolutionary nationalism that was growing in Europe created a spark amongst the Greeks for independence, which started in 1821. Since the fifteenth century, Greece has been a part of the Ottoman Empire. Because of their affinity for Greek culture, other Greeks in exile and Western Europeans supported Greece. The Post and its artists were highly admired in Greece and made the public opinion active in supporting the Greek war of independence. The English poet, Lord Byron, organised funds and died of fever in the war. And in the end, Greece got independence by the treaty of Constantinople in 1832.
