Kharif crops are harvested in September and October. Important crops grown during this season include paddy, maize, jowar, bajra, tur (arhar), moong, urad, cotton, jute, peanut, and soyabean. In Punjab and Haryana, paddy has lately grown in importance as a crop. Three times a year, paddy is grown in states like Assam, West Bengal, and Odisha. They are Aus, Aman, and Boro.
