Detailed Solution

Arid soil is the type of soil common in Rajasthan.
The western parts of India, especially the deserted regions of Rajasthan, have arid soil. The presence of desert gives it the name desert soil in some places. The colour varies from red to brown, and the soil has a sandy texture. It lacks moisture content, making it easy to be carried away by winds. In India, this erosion by wind could lead to the spread of the desert. Due to reduced moisture content, arid soil lacks organic matter but contains soluble salts. The alkaline soil results from hot temperatures with little to no rainfall. Though it is unproductive, crops like wheat, pulses, and millets can be grown in arid soil with proper irrigation.
