The use of Electronic Voting Machines is to record the votes of people. EVMs are electronic voting devices that give voters a button for each candidate they choose to vote for. The machine displays the candidates' names as well as the party symbols. Independent candidates also have their own symbols, which the Election Commission assigns. After the polling is completed, all EVMs are sealed and transported to a secure location.
