The valency of each carbon atom in an alkane and alkyne is 4,4.
As we know, valence electrons are those electrons which are present in the outermost shell of the atom. The valency of a carbon atom is four. In alkanes, carbon forms a single covalent bond with other carbon atoms and with hydrogen atoms. For example, Ethane, its four valence carbon atom, forms a single covalent bond with a hydrogen atom. And in an alkyne, the valency of each carbon atom in an alkyne is four.
