Detailed Solution

India has an independent and integrated judicial system. It was adopted from the Government of India Act of 1935.
It is an integrated judicial system with the Supreme Court at the top and the High Courts below. Under the High courts, there is a hierarchy of subordinate courts, district courts and other lower courts.
The judicial system is independent as it is essential for effectively discharging duties. This independence is maintained by the mode of appointment, security of tenure, fixed service conditions and the lengthy method of removal of the judges. These ensure that no single political party, individual or organisation can threaten a judge or manipulate the judicial system in its favour.
