Detailed Solution

The defeat of Vijayanagara by the Deccan Sultans led to the decline of Hampi. The Vijayanagara empire started crumbling after Krishnadeva Raya, who served as the Tuluva Dynasty's third king. His successors were feeble. During Rama Raya's rule, the combined troops of the Deccan Sultans, Ahmednagar, Bijapur, Golconda, and Bidar, launched a war on Vijayanagar. Rama Raya lost the battle. He and his troops were brutally murdered. The Vijayanagar empire was largely destroyed in the Battle of Talikota in 1565.
