Concept- A celestial object's curved portion is called an orbit.
One orbit is a route an object in space travels around another one on a regular basis. The Sun and the other bodies that directly or indirectly circle it make up the gravitationally bound system known as the Solar System. The biggest eight planets are those that circle the Sun directly, with the other worlds in the Solar System being smaller objects such as dwarf planets and minor bodies. Two of the natural satellites, which indirectly circle the Sun, are bigger than Mercury, the smallest planet.
Earth, Mars, Venus, Mercury Terrestrial planets are the four smaller inner planets, which are mostly made of rock and metal. Due to their greater mass than terrestrial planets, the four outer planets are known as gigantic planets. The two biggest planets, Jupiter and Saturn, are gas giants because they are mostly made of hydrogen and helium. The two outermost planets, Uranus and Neptune, are ice giants because they are primarily made of materials with very high melting points.
When compared to hydrogen and helium, volatiles include substances like water, ammonia, and methane. The orbits of all eight planets are almost round and roughly contained by the ecliptic, a flat disc. The Solar System also includes smaller objects, such as the asteroid belt, which is located between Mars and Jupiter's orbits and is primarily made up of rocks and metal objects similar to the terrestrial planets.
