In 1764, Spinning Jenny was a machine designed by James Hargreaves, which was used to speed up the spinning process and reduce the time duration and labour demand. In this method, labour could work with many spindles and spin them together simultaneously by turning one wheel. The technique was introduced in woollen industries. However, the labourers, mostly women who worked in these industries, opposed this technique because working in the woollen industries was their only source of income. This situation created fear of unemployment and unfriendliness to the introduction of technology.
