Detailed Solution

The Dandi March marked the beginning of the Civil Disobedience Movement.
Mahatma Gandhi marched from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Dandi on the Gujarat coast in order to break the salt rule. The law did not allow people to make or collect salt in the sea. Breaking the salt law was his first challenge to the British government. This started the Civil Disobedience movement in 1930. Gandhi was arrested and detained in Poona. Thousands of men and women joined the Civil Disobedience movement. The movement was led by Abdul Ghaffar Khan in the northwest, Rani Gaidinliu of Nagaland in the northeast, and C. Rajagopalachari in the south.
