Detailed Solution

More than 50% of all pastoralists live in Africa. More than 22 million Africans still make their living through some sort of pastoral activity. The Bedouins, Berbers, Maasai, Somali, Boran, and Turkana are prominent pastoral nomadic communities in Africa. Most of these villages are located in dry deserts or semi-arid grasslands, which makes rain-fed agriculture unlikely. In order to sell milk, meat, animal skins, and wool, they breed cattle, camels, goats, sheep, and donkeys. Some people make money through trade and transportation, while others engage in both agriculture and pastoral work. Some people take extra jobs to augment their meagre and unreliable income from pastoralism.
