The Himalayas prevents India from the southwest monsoon winds.
The Himalayan mountains are very useful to India in different ways; the Himalayas perform as a strong natural barrier for North India. The Himalayas have been a strong defence wall for India for decades. The Himalayas are a great climatic barrier. The Himalayan mountains save India from the cold and dry winds of Central Asia and prevent the rain-laden monsoon winds of the Indian Ocean from crossing over to Northern countries and causing heavy rainfall in Northern India. Without the Himalayas mountain, India would have been barren like the Thar Desert. Also, the mountain doesn't allow the Southwest monsoon winds to escape from India, as they act as a barrier to the monsoon winds and also deflect the monsoon winds Westwards from Assam.
