Detailed Solution

No privileges did the third estate enjoy.
The First and Second Estates were sometimes referred to as the "Privileged Orders" during the Ancien Régime because they held disproportionate wealth and authority. All common class members made up the Third Estate, which was incredibly diverse. Comparing the Third Estate to the two privileged orders, they possessed a disproportionately small amount of French land. The disparity in taxation was, however, far worse. In addition to seigneurial dues, members of the Third Estate were compelled to pay various direct and indirect taxes, many of which were not paid by members of the privileged orders. Despite its size, the Third Estate was generally shut out of politics until the National Assembly was established in June 1789.
