Detailed Solution

If your payment fails during NEET counselling registration, don’t panic — it’s a common issue, and there are clear steps you can follow to resolve it quickly.

1. Verify the Payment Status

  • First, log in to the official counselling portal (MCC or state authority) and check if the payment was marked as failed, pending, or successful.
  • Simultaneously, check your bank account or UPI app to confirm whether the amount was actually deducted.

2. Retry the Payment

  • If no amount was deducted, go ahead and retry the payment on the portal using the same or a different method.
  • If the amount was deducted but the portal shows “payment pending”, wait 24 to 72 hours. Payment gateways sometimes take time to update the transaction.

3. Contact Counselling Authority Support

  • If the status doesn’t change after 72 hours, immediately contact the official counselling authority (like MCC or your State DME) via:
    • Email
    • Helpline number
  • Share your:
    • Bank reference number
    • Transaction date
    • Screenshots or confirmation email

4. In Case of Double Deduction or Refund

  • If the amount was deducted more than once, the extra payment is typically refunded automatically within a few days.
  • If not, email the authority with full details and request a refund.

5. Submit a Grievance (If Needed)

  • If the issue is not resolved even after support contact, file an official grievance through the portal.
  • Attach relevant documents like:
    • Payment receipts
    • Screenshots
    • Email proof of communication

Always take screenshots during every payment attempt and save your bank reference numbers. Keeping records ensures faster resolution and helps avoid delays in your NEET counselling process.

If your payment fails during NEET counselling, check your bank and portal status, retry if needed, and contact support with complete details. Refunds and corrections are usually processed, but fast action and record-keeping are key to avoiding any counselling delays.
