Detailed Solution

The Rajasthan desert has a continental climate.
It has cold winters and cool summers. The cold winter prevails from October to February, when snowstorms are common. The scorching hot summer and the scanty rainfall is associated with the summer extending from March to September. The Great Indian Desert covers the northwestern part of India, including Rajasthan and parts of Punjab, Gujarat, and Haryana. The winter temperatures go below 0°C, and the summer temperatures can exceed 50°C. The rainfall is scanty, with below 50 cm annual precipitation. The short southwest monsoons fill the oases, short stretches of water seen in these deserts, and are sources of drinking water in the region.
