What type of crop is jowar?

The term "Rabi" means "spring" in Arabic. 

The harvesting of these crops takes place in the spring, therefore the name. 

Typically, the Rabi season begins in November and lasts through March or April. 

Since monsoons are usually gone by November, irrigation is mostly used to grow rabi crops. 

The main rabi crop varieties grown in India include wheat, barley, mustard, and green peas.
