Detailed Solution

Alpine forest is seen in cold areas.

Alpine forests also called the Montane forests are found in mountain regions around the world. In India, they majorly comprise the Himalayas, at elevations ranging from 2,900 up to 3800 m above sea level, based on location and plant variety. Some of the trees here include deodar, blue pine, spruce and silver fir. Low alpine vegetations are common which grows not higher than 1.5m. They include perennial grasses, sedges, cushion plants, mosses, and lichens. Plants of the Alpine forests are adapted to low temperatures, dryness, UV radiation, wind, drought, poor nutritional soil, and a short growing season.
