India has become a major market for Manufactured goods.
To mark its dominance in the economic sphere after dominating the political sphere, the Britishers started a new practice. In this new practice, they would export the raw material from India to their home country at low prices, making a scanty profit for the Indians. They would urge and make farmers of India to grow a crop of raw materials on their farms. They would demand to grow cash crops like cotton, indigo, etc. Then they would produce goods in their home country and export them to India at high prices. By doing so, they earned good profits. And India became a market for manufactured goods.
