What types of organisms make up Paramecium diet?

A Paramecium feeds on microorganisms such as bacteria, algae, and small protozoa. These are single-celled or tiny multicellular organisms found in ponds, lakes, and stagnant water. The Paramecium uses its hair-like structures called cilia to sweep food particles into a specialized groove known as the oral groove. From there, food enters a temporary sac called a food vacuole, where digestion occurs.
The diet mainly consists of:

2. Algae – provides nutrition when present in the habitat.

Paramecia are heterotrophic, meaning they cannot make their own food like plants. They absorb nutrients from other living or dead matter.
