Detailed Solution

Restoring democracy was the aim of the extraordinary movement Nepal experienced in 2006. A remarkable movement was led in Nepal 2006, a neighbouring northern country of India. When in 2005, Gyanendra became the king of the country, he seized all the powers in his hand. He did not want a democratic setup in the country, so he abolished the democratically elected government. He also dissolved the Parliament. This ignited a movement in the country to remove him as the king and abolish the monarchy altogether. The people of Nepal wanted democracy in the country.
