Stalin's collectivization program was the merger of small, privately owned farmers with larger, state-run, known as the Kolkhoz farms. Stalin's Collectivization Program for Russian peasants had five components. One of them was that Stalin compelled all peasants to work in kolkhoz collective farms. A large portion of the land and equipment was given to community farms. The profits from the kolkhoz were divided among the peasants who cultivated the land.
