Detailed Solution

Production went up was the effect of the 'Boycott' movement on Indian textile mills.
On the economic front, the effects of non-cooperation were more extreme. The production of Indian textile mills and handlooms increased rapidly as the boycott movement grew, and people started wearing mainly Indian clothing instead of foreign ones. But for several reasons, this movement in the cities eventually slowed down. Moreover, Khadi cloth was frequently more expensive than mass-produced mill cloth, making it unaffordable for the poor. Therefore, long-term boycotting of mill cloth was not possible. The boycott of British institutions also created issues. However, alternative Indian institutions must be established to be used in place of the British ones for the movement to succeed.
