Detailed Solution

The Jagirdari system was the collection of revenue from a piece of land, and the revenue had to be shared with the Mughal ruler.
Jagirdar was an office holder under the Mughal Empire. The Jagirdar was a rank given to a military holder who was given a piece of land. And this Jagirdar had to collect the revenue from that piece of land and share it with the Mughal ruler. The rest of the revenue from the land was appropriated by the military instead of salary. With the decline of the Mughal Empire, this system of Jagirdar declined as many of the subedars, and provincial rulers did not encourage the system. The rulers of Awadh Bengal et cetera tried to reduce the number of Jagirdar appointed by the Mughals in their regions. This was to further minimise the Mughal Empire's influence and declare themselves more independent.
