Detailed Solution

The main reason for Germany’s defeat in the First World War was as it was not prepared for a massive war.
Germany was one of the most powerful empires in the early twentieth century, fighting the First World War (1914-1918) alongside the Austrian empire and against the Allies (England, France, and Russia). They joined the war with the motive of victory. Germany initially occupied France and Belgium. However, it was unable to realise the Allies' resources, which could lead to a massive war. The entry of the US from the Allies ended in 1917 to strengthen the opposition, resulting in Germany's loss and the Central Powers loss in November 1917. Germany was later dematerialised as well.
