Detailed Solution

Mahayana Buddhism was the name of the new form of Buddhism. This form of Buddhism was different from that of the earliest. Mahayana Buddhism had two distinct features.  In the previous form of Buddhism, the presence of Buddha was shown through sculptures by the usage of certain symbols or signs. For example, Buddha's attainment of enlightenment is presented in the sculptures of the peepal tree. But Later instead of sculptures statues began to be made. And also there was a change in the belief of the bodhisattvas (the people who had attained enlightenment). Previously after the attainment of enlightenment, they lived in complete isolation. But after Mahayana, these people remained in the world to teach and help others.
