Detailed Solution

Kesari is the name of the paper brought out by Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
Bal Gangadhar Tilak was one of India’s finest and most important revolutionaries to have ever walked on the land. When the Vernacular Press Act was passed, he published his Vernacular newspaper ‘Kesari’ which was a Marathi newspaper. The idea of Kesari was to show to the common masses the British atrocities which were taking place in Punjab and almost all the parts of the country. Many freedom fighters had already died at the hands of the British. Bal Gangadhar Tilak started writing about the plight of the deceased revolutionaries. As the crippling of the nationalistic newspaper grew, so did the criticism of the government in Kesari increased. And as result, it led to the arrest of Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
