Making religious conversions to Christianity easier was the objective of the Caste Disabilities Removal Act passed by the company in 1850.
The company passed a new law in 1850, which allowed missionaries to make religious conversions to Christianity easier. Many missionaries were coming to India to convert Hindus and Muslims to Christianity and to propagate their religious ideas by all means. Their work was made easy by the acts and laws passed by the colonial rule in India. One such rule was passed in 1850. Under this rule, it was easier for Christians to gain their ancestral property compared to the Hindus and Muslims. Although not many conversions happened, there were some conversions that were taking place by the missionaries.
