Detailed Solution

Poona pact was related to separate electorates. It was on 24 September 1932 that M K Gandhi and B R Ambedkar signed the Poona Pact, representing the oppressed class in exchange for the reservation of seats in the legislature of the British Government. To end Gandhi's fast in Yerwada jail against Ramsay MacDonald's decision to give the oppressed classes separate electorates in provincial legislative assemblies in British India. MacDonald introduced separate electorates to break the integrity of India. Ramsay Macdonald recognised the Poona pact as a modification to the separate electorate.
