Detailed Solution

The consumer movement developed as a result of unfair practices by sellers led to dissatisfaction of the consumer which led to the consumer movement.
The traders or the sellers were practising very unfair and illegal practices which were affecting the consumer, and it was like harassment to a consumer. For example, in earlier times, cigarettes were sold with no prior instructions that it leads to cancer - which was completely unfair and it was affecting the health of consumers but sellers did not warn consumers regarding cancer because it might affect the sale of the cigarettes. In this way, many unfair trade practices were carried out by sellers or traders. This led to dissatisfaction among the consumers and that led to the consumer movement in the country.
