Tipu Sultan was the ruler of Mysore who ruled till 1799. His sword was of huge importance. The sword was characterised by extremely sharp edges that could easily rip off the opponent. The sword of  Tipu Sultan was made up of wootz steel, special high-carbon steel produced in South India during the 18th century.
