Detailed Solution

Traders and moneylenders were referred to as The Vaishyas. In Indian society, People were classified in different castes based on their occupation. The different castes that existed during the time were Brahmans, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras. Kshatriyas and Brahmans regarded themselves as belonging to "higher castes." They were placed after the upper classes. The peasants and artisans such as weavers and potters were referred to as Shudras. They were put in the lowest position. The Shudras were considered inferior and were restricted from many things that were enjoyed by the other caste members. Vaishyas belonged to the third class in the caste hierarchy.
