Detailed Solution

Inscriptions used to be written in stone and metal.
Writers prepared Inscriptions on hard surfaces such as stone or metal. Rulers got their orders inscribed for people to see, read and obey them. There are other inscriptions in which ordinary people, kings, and queens recorded what they did. Rulers kept records of victories in battle. Archaeologists found an inscription dated 2250 years ago in Kandahar, present-day Afghanistan. Ashoka was the ruler who ordered them to write it. Writers use various scripts to write, and different scripts have distinctive letters or signs. People use languages to read and speak. The person who wrote this inscription used two separate local scripts and languages, Greek and Aramaic.
