Detailed Solution

Caribbean islands, Mauritius and Fiji, were the main destinations of the Indian indentured migrants. The Caribbean islands – mainly Trinidad, Guyana and Surinam, Mauritius and Fiji served as the major working location for the Indian indentured workers who were hired on a contract basis by the agents. These small countries were mainly under the control of the British Empire or other European colonies and were highly resourceful regions. For the maximum benefit from these lands, the colonial government took the help of indentured labourers and allotted them to various plantations, mines, and construction projects in these islands and small countries.
