Detailed Solution

The Poona Pact gave the depressed classes reserved seats in Provincial and Central Legislative Councils.
At the second Round Table Conference, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar battled with Mahatma Gandhi over his proposal for separate electorates for the Dalit community. Gandhi started a fast until death when the British government agreed to Ambedkar's demand. In his opinion, different voting districts for Dalits would hamper their integration into society. In the end, Ambedkar sided with Gandhi, resulting in the Poona Pact of September 1932. It allowed the Depressed Classes to reserve seats in Central and Provincial Legislative Councils.
