Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s father was Mehta Kalu Chand, also known as Kalyan Das Bedi, and his mother was Mata Tripta Devi. His father worked as an accountant for the local landlord, while his mother was known for her kindness and devotion. They belonged to the Hindu Khatri community in Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib). From an early age, Guru Nanak showed spiritual wisdom and a questioning mind that surpassed his years.
