We have to find the area of canvas.
Constructing the diagram,
Question ImageApplying the formula for curved surface area of the cylindrical portion:
Curved surface area of cylinder =2πrh   Curved surface area of the cylindrical portion =2× 22 7 ×52.5×3  
=990m2
Applying the formula for the curved surface area of conical portion:
Curved surface area of cone =πrl  
Curved surface area of the cylindrical portion = 22 7 ×52.5×53  
=8745m2
So, total area of canvas required for making the tent:
=(8745+990) m 2 =9735  m 2   Thus, the total area of canvas required for making the tent is 9735  m 2  .
