Parallel Combination
In this type of connection the inverse of Net resistance is the sum of the inverse of all other resistance in the circuit.

\frac{1}{R_{n}} = \frac{1}{R_{!}} + \frac{1}{R_{2}} + . . . . . . . . . . + \frac{1}{R_{p}}

where,

\frac{1}{R_{n}}

is inverse for net resistance

\frac{1}{R_{p}}

is the inverse of last resistance in the circuit.
As the resistors are in parallel, the equivalent resistance will be,

\frac{1}{R_{eq}} = \frac{1}{R_{1}} + \frac{1}{R_{2}}

\frac{1}{R_{eq}} = \frac{1}{8} + \frac{1}{8} = \frac{(8 + 8)}{8 \times 8}

R_{eq} = 4 Ω
