We have to find the four consecutive integers if their sum is 266.
Also, in transposition, we shift a number from one side of an equation to the other.
Let the four consecutive integers be:

and

x + 3

It is known to us that the sum of four consecutive integers is 266.
Then,

∴ x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 = 266 ⇒ 4 x + 6 = 266

Now transposing 6 to RHS of the equation:

∴ 4 x = 266 − 6 ⇒ 4 x = 260 ⇒ x = 2604 ⇒ x = 65
